Silar Laboratories was founded in 1972 by Art Coleman and Terry
Selin. As Ph.D. chemists, both had over 30 years experience
in the development and production of silicon based products. In
1991, Wright Corporation purchased Silar Laboratories.
The Scotia, NY facility handles gram to multi-kilo orders in
glassware up to 22 liters as well as development projects. Wright
Corporation built a facility at Acme, NC to increase Silar’s capabilities. The
Acme plant is designed to handle development projects, up to 50
liter production in the laboratory, as well as bulk production
in glass lined and Hastelloy reactors from 30 to 500 gallons. The
Acme facility is ISO 9001:2000 certified.
